Luis Padroza Twenty-three Years in the Jesuit Order

"I have discovered that there is no basis in the Gospel for the dogmas of the Roman Catholic Church Such an affirmation from the lips of the Reverend Father Luis Padrosa, dressed in his priestly cassock, left the evangelical pastor Samuel Vila, whose advice the priest sought in that first memorable interview, almost speechless with astonishment.

He came to speak with Samuel Vila, already persuaded by the force of the truth and constrained by the Spirit of God, eager to explain what he himself had discovered in the pages of Holy Scripture, the Bible.

He had decided to take the painful and dangerous step (dangerous especially in Spain) of renouncing his office and position, and sacrificing the fame that he had earned as a professor and director of the Loyola Institutes of Barcelona and Tarrasa, in order to be faithful to the light. that I had received.

Rome is not the true church

Luis Padrosa writes: "The reasons for my great decision are many. After living forty-three years as a sincere Roman Catholic, fifteen years of intense ecclesiastical preparation, ten as a priest and popular speaker in front of crowds, and twenty-three years of religious life in the order Jesuit, I have come to the conviction that the Roman Catholic Church is not the true church of Christ Jesus. Thirteen years of intense study of apologetics have brought me to this unshakable conviction. I know the arguments on both sides, I have analyzed them all .

I took the Holy Scriptures and started looking, but where was the infallibility popes? I couldn't find it anywhere. Where was everything about the eucharistic fast ... and the mass? Where was everything? I could not find it. The more he studied, the more he saw that Christianity is one thing and Roman Catholicism another entirely. The more I studied the scriptures, the more I became convinced of this truth. In Roman Catholicism Jesus is presented as a fossil, a dead body, a man nailed to the cross, but dead, not alive. That is why the church cannot make a Catholic love Jesus, and if there is no love, there is no possible salvation, no matter how many Masses, scapulars, medals, novenas and images one has. It is useless unless there is sincere faith and love, and there can be no such love unless man sees Christ alive, with his sacrifice finished. In Roman Catholicism salvation depends on oneself, saying many prayers, wearing scapulars, devotion to the Virgin, taking communion. For all this and other things I came to see that Catholic doctrine cannot be true.

If they only knew what I went through, it is something very serious.

Tormented Roman Catholics

You find yourself faced with your life-long tradition, your native environment, your family, relatives and friends, all of whom will say one of two things (or both) because they have no other explanation for who leaves the Catholic Church for him. Christianity: has gone mad , or has fallen in love .

If they only knew the soul torture Roman Catholics suffer. People who go to mass every day and permanently attend Roman Catholic churches, live with a tormented soul, saying to themselves: Will I be saved or not? Did I confess well or not? They have no peace. Is this the true religion? What is all this? Where in the Gospels do we find this method of torturing the sinner? How much did Jesus or his apostles torment the sinner with their questions?

How wonderful to know in the heart that Jesus Christ our Lord has redeemed us , that we are saved by grace! Doesn't Paul say: "I am not rejecting the grace of God;" for if justice were through the law, then Jesus died for nothing " (Galatians 2:21) The salvation of man depends only on Jesus Christ, our divine Redeemer.

Jesus is the true way

He is the way. Jesus never said that the way was the church. but 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life ...' (John 14: 6). On the other hand, the Catholic Church wants to be the way itself and to be the owner of the Truth, to be able to modify it at will.

To achieve this, he has put the clergy in place of Jesus Christ and the church in the place of the Bible.

I can offer a simple word of advice to anyone who wants to know the truth: read as often as possible the Gospels and the Epistles that are in the New Testament. There you can see what anyone who wants to be a Christian should believe and practice:

"... For you also break the commandment of God by your tradition" (Matthew 15: 3).

"... Isaiah prophesied of you well, when he said: This people honors me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. For in vain they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men" (Matthew 15: 7-9) .

So, let's leave men and listen to the Lord Jesus, because only He has the words of eternal life. "Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life, and will not come to condemnation but has passed from death to life" (John 5:24).
